About Liebherr wine cabinets
Nine multi-zone cabinets, and three of them are Monolith
Liebherr wine cabinets is the trade's word and the maker's own showroom word for these; most of South Florida types wine cooler or wine fridge instead, and those go to wine refrigeration and wine fridges. The appliance is the same one.
Of the eleven wine cabinets Liebherr lists for the US, six hold two temperature zones and three hold three; MW 1810, MW 2400 and MW 2401 are Monolith columns built to disappear into the joinery behind your own panel. The remaining two are single-zone, and a single-zone unit is usually the undercounter kind covered on wine fridges.
Why the door is half the appliance here
A tall wine cabinet is mostly door. A full-height glass panel is a large area of cold surface facing a humid room, and a full-height paneled door hangs your own cabinetry on the appliance hinges. Both mean the same thing in practice: alignment and sealing are not cosmetic on this appliance, and they are what most often brings us out to a cabinet whose refrigeration is in perfect health.

What is behind the glass matters too
Presentation shelving, telescopic runners and the way a cabinet is loaded change how air moves inside it. A cabinet packed to the back of every shelf can read correctly at the sensor and be several degrees out at the bottle, which is worth ruling out before anybody opens the appliance. If a zone reads right and behaves wrong, say so when you book.

Before you book
Questions about liebherr wine cabinets
The top of the cabinet is at the right temperature and the bottom is not.
Useful information rather than bad news, and worth saying when you book. A dual-zone or triple-zone cabinet controls each zone separately, so one zone off while the others hold points at that zone — its sensor, its fan, its damper. Tell us which zone has drifted, what it is set to and what it is reading, and the visit starts much further along than it otherwise would.
There is condensation on the inside of the glass door.
In a Miami summer some of that is the room rather than the cabinet: warm humid air against a large panel of cold glass will fog it, and a kitchen that opens to outside does it daily. What is not normal is water pooling in the base, a seal that no longer grips a sheet of paper anywhere along its length, or fogging that stays all day with the door shut. The seal is the first thing to look at and the cheapest thing to fix.
My cabinet is behind a cabinet front rather than glass. Does that change anything?
It changes the door, not the refrigeration. A paneled cabinet carries the weight of your joinery on the appliance door and its hinges, which is why paneled cabinets come to us for alignment more often than glass ones do — and why a panel sitting proud of its neighbors is worth a call before it becomes a seal that no longer closes. It also changes the access: a cabinet fitted into the run does not roll out.
Is it worth repairing a cabinet this size, or should I replace it?
Ask what has failed before deciding. Lighting, a door seal, a hinge, a fan, a control board or a zone sensor are ordinary repairs on a cabinet that will keep going for years, and on a cabinet of this size they are a small fraction of replacing it. A sealed-system failure is the other conversation, and on a Liebherr it is worth asking about the maker's own five-year sealed-system position first. We will tell you which of the two you have, and we will say plainly when the work approaches what the cabinet is worth.
