    The cabinet runs but does not hold temperature, or holds it in one compartment and not the other. On a NoFrost appliance that is usually the defrost circuit or the airflow rather than the compressor — and telling those apart before ordering anything is the whole job.

    Condenser and airflow service

    The maker names ventilation first among the causes for both "motor seems to run too long" and "the temperature is not cold enough". In South Florida a condenser fills faster than anywhere else in the country, and this is the least expensive visit on this page.

    Evaporator fan and running-noise repair

    Loud running noise is one of the manual’s own six troubleshooting rows. It is worth taking seriously and it is worth ruling out the free causes first, because two of the three usual answers cost nothing at all.

    The cabinet is holding a temperature it thinks is right and is not. A sensor is a resistance at a known temperature, so this is one of the few things on a cold appliance that can be proved rather than inferred.

    The cheapest thing on a cold appliance that costs real money if it is ignored. A seal that no longer grips is warm air entering continuously, which is a compressor running longer, ice forming where it should not, and a wine cabinet fogging on the inside of its glass.

    On an integrated cabinet the door carries your own cabinet front, so alignment is joinery work as much as appliance work. A door that has dropped a few millimeters shows up first as a seal that no longer grips and second as a run of cabinetry that no longer lines up.

    Alarm and power-failure diagnosis

    This visit exists because of what this make documents. A flashing display, a sounding alarm or a lit power-failure light is frequently the appliance working exactly as designed — and a visit that ends "nothing is wrong, and here is what it was telling you" is a real visit that took real time.     Appliance installation and refit

    Levelling, door alignment, panel fitting and the water connection where there is one. On integrated cabinets the installation decides how the appliance performs and how long it lasts, which is why it is a service rather than an afterthought.

The thing worth knowing before you read a figure

This maker prints numbers and does not decode them.

If a display here shows F1 to F5, the maker’s own manual says one thing about it: the appliance has registered a problem, and you should have that number available when you call. Its troubleshooting section decodes none of them. Pages elsewhere that assign each number to a sensor cite nothing.

What Liebherr does document, in detail, is behavior — a door alarm after about 180 seconds, a temperature display that flashes until the cause has gone, a freezer showing two dashes because it only reports below freezing, a power-failure light that will tell you the highest temperature it reached. On this make those signals are the diagnosis, and a fair number of the visits we take end with an explanation rather than a part. That is priced honestly on its own page rather than hidden inside another one.

Why access is a line on the bill

Fifteen of these cabinets live inside your joinery.

Ten of the fifty-two refrigerators in the current US line are fully integrated behind your own cabinet fronts, and so is every one of the five freezers. Ten more are Side-by-Side pairs set into a continuous run. A cabinet that has to come out of joinery, be reconnected and be aligned back against its neighbors costs time that a freestanding unit simply does not.

We would rather price that openly than absorb it and be surprised in your kitchen. It is why the integrated panel and column refit is its own page, why we ask when you book whether the appliance carries your own front, and why two people come to anything panelled.

How a visit runs

Four steps, and you approve the third one

  1. 01

    You tell us the three numbers and what it is doing

    The plate is inside the cabinet on the left-hand side and it carries three: Type Designation, Service Number and Appliance/Serial Number. Liebherr asks for all three together, and a photograph of it saves a great deal of guessing. If anything is showing in the display, write it down before it clears.

  2. 02

    We come with what your description points at

    Seals, sensors, fans and filters travel; a control board for a particular cabinet is ordered against the number on the plate. If the description points at the sealed system, we bring recovery equipment rather than discovering we needed it.

  3. 03

    Diagnosis on site, then the scope and the price in writing

    Nothing is opened until you have both and have agreed to them. The diagnostic comes off the bill when you go ahead. If the cabinet is still inside the maker's five-year sealed-system position, we say so instead of quoting — that sentence is worth more to you than our invoice.

  4. 04

    The work, and a warranty on it

    We guarantee the work we performed and the parts we fitted. A cabinet that came out of joinery goes back level, plumb and aligned to the doors either side. Where a repair approaches the value of the appliance, you get told that rather than a quote.

    Five freezers in the current US line, every one of them a fully integrated column built into the joinery. They are frequently half of a Side-by-Side pair, which means a freezer that has stopped and a refrigerator that is fine can be two separate machines behind two matching doors.

    Monolith refrigerators

    Monolith is the line Liebherr names for its fully integrated columns, and ten cabinets in the current US catalog carry it: MRB 2400, MRB 3010 and MRB 3600 on the refrigerator side, MF 1851, MF 2461, MF 3051 and MF 3661 on the freezer side, and MW 1810, MW 2400 and MW 2401 for wine. The refrigeration inside is the refrigeration in the rest of the range. What is different is that the cabinet is part of your joinery, and that is what changes about the visit.

The questions this page is asked

Do you work on Liebherr only, or on everything?

This site is about one make and one kind of equipment, because that is where the depth is. We are an independent repair company rather than the manufacturer, and we say so on every page — but the cabinets on this site are the ones we are inside every week.

My display shows a number. Can you tell me what it means before you come?

Nobody can, and anybody who does is guessing. Liebherr prints F1 to F5 and publishes no meaning for any of them. What the number does is confirm the appliance registered something, and it goes to us alongside the three numbers off the plate. The narrowing happens on site, with measurements.

The alarm is sounding but the food is frozen solid. Do I need a visit?

Possibly not, and that is worth five minutes on the phone first. A door alarm resets itself when the door is shut. A temperature alarm clears when the cause does — warm food, a long door-open, a power cut. What is worth a visit is an alarm that keeps returning with the door shut and nothing new inside.

It is built in behind a cabinet door. Is that a problem?

It is normal on this make and it is planned rather than discovered. Tell us when you book that the appliance carries your own front, and the appointment is scheduled with the right time and the right number of people.

Is it worth repairing, or should I replace it?

Ask what has failed first. Seals, fans, sensors, boards, defrost circuits and ice makers are ordinary repairs on a cabinet with years left. A sealed-system failure is a different conversation — and on this make it is worth checking the maker's own five-year position before anybody quotes. We will say plainly when the work approaches what the appliance is worth.

What Liebherr repair actually involves in Miami

Cold equipment fails in a small number of ways and the useful question is always the same: is the appliance failing to make cold, or failing to move it? Making is the sealed system — compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier and the tubing between them, which is the maker’s own definition in its warranty. Moving is fans, vents, dampers and a defrost circuit that has to keep the evaporator clear enough to work. Most calls are about moving, and moving is the cheaper half.

Between those two sits a third category that costs nothing at all and explains a surprising share of what we are called out to: a condenser that has not been cleaned since the kitchen was built, a door seal that no longer grips a sheet of paper, a cabinet packed tight enough to block its own vents, a clearance the installation never had. The maker names ventilation first in its own troubleshooting rows for both running too long and not cold enough — that is Liebherr telling you where to look before anybody charges you.

South Florida changes the weighting. Salt air and fine dust fill a condenser faster than the manual assumes; humidity puts more work through every door seal and fogs the glass on a wine cooler in a kitchen that opens to the outside; and seasonal power failures produce a predictable round of alarms that are the appliance doing its job rather than breaking. Three of the eighteen jobs on this page exist mainly because of this city.

And one page here is unusual: alarm and power-failure diagnosis may end with no repair at all. We would rather publish that as a priced, honest visit than either refuse to come out or invent a part to make the trip feel worthwhile.
