# Liebherr wine cooler not cooling

### The fastest diagnosis is what the appliance is telling you

Write down what each zone is set to and what each zone is reading. Two or three pairs of numbers narrow this further than any single observation, and a surprising share of these calls end with a set point somebody changed.

### Multi-zone is a diagnostic advantage

Six of the eleven wine coolers in this line hold two zones and three hold three. One zone off while the others hold points at that zone’s sensor, damper or fan. Every zone off together points at the shared refrigeration. That distinction is worth making before anybody quotes you, because the two answers are very different amounts of money.

A set point that was changed

Zones are set for different purposes. A serving temperature is not a storage temperature and neither of them is wrong.

That zone's own control

Sensor, damper or fan for the zone that has drifted, measured against the zone that has not.

The door seal

A glass door in a humid kitchen is doing more work than it looks.

The shared refrigeration

Every zone drifting together moves the conversation to the sealed system.

Read every zone, set and actual

All of them, not just the one that is wrong.

Paper test the door

Along the whole run, corners first.

Check the cabinet is not in the sun

A glass door and afternoon light are a bad combination in this city.

Which zone is the diagnosis

What it usually means

One zone warm, the others right

Every zone warm together

Warmer than a fridge, which may be correct

### It is at 55°F and I think that is too warm.

It may be exactly right. A zone set for long storage sits warmer than a refrigerator by design, and cabinets are frequently set for serving in one zone and storage in another. Check what it is set to before deciding it has failed.

### One zone is perfect and one is not.

Good news: that points at the zone rather than the appliance, and zone repairs are much smaller than whole-cabinet ones. Tell us which zone, set to what, reading what.
