# Liebherr running constantly

### The fastest diagnosis is what the appliance is telling you

Check what the manual checks: is the room too hot, has the appliance been opened often or left open, has a large amount of food gone in, and is it in a fast-cool mode somebody switched on and forgot.

### The maker’s own list, in its own order

Is the ambient temperature too hot. Has the appliance been opened too often or left open too long. Has a large amount of food been added. Is the unit in SuperCool mode — verify it is in normal operation. Four published causes, none of them a part, and they come before anything anybody charges for.

Ambient heat

Named first by the maker. A closed Miami kitchen in August is a different appliance environment from the one the manual assumes.

A door opened often or left open

Published, and easy to underestimate in a busy kitchen.

A large load of warm food

Published. It resolves itself in a day.

A fast-cool mode left on

The maker names SuperCool specifically — verify the unit is in normal operating mode.

A condenser that cannot shed heat

The commonest real cause here, and the cheapest real fix.

A seal that has stopped gripping

Warm air entering continuously means cold made continuously.

Check for a fast-cool mode

The maker names this in its own row.

Look at the clearances

Especially if the cabinet was refitted or pushed back.

Paper test the doors

A leaking seal is a compressor that never rests.

### Is running constantly bad for it?

It costs compressor life and it costs electricity, and it is usually caused by something cheap. That combination is why this is worth attending to even though nothing appears to be wrong.

### It started when we had the kitchen redone.

Then look at the clearances first. An appliance pushed further into its housing, or a plinth that now blocks the airflow, will run long for the rest of its life until somebody notices.
