# Liebherr display flashing or blinking

### The fastest diagnosis is what the appliance is telling you

Look at whether the alarm LED is flashing with it. Display alone, just after you changed a temperature or loaded warm food, is normal and stops by itself. Display plus alarm LED means the freezer is not cold enough, and that one needs an answer.

### Two normal cases and one real one

The maker documents the display flashing after a temperature change and after cold loss from loading. It also documents the display flashing together with the alarm LED, which is the freezer telling you it is not cold enough and will keep saying so until the cause is gone. The difference is one LED, and it decides whether this is a phone call or nothing at all.

You changed the temperature

Documented: the display flashes when you change a setting.

Cold loss from loading

Documented: it flashes when the temperature rises several degrees, for instance when warm food goes in or frozen food is rearranged.

The temperature alarm

Display and alarm LED flashing together. It continues until the cause is rectified and then lights steadily again.

A door not sealing

The most common reason the alarm keeps finding a reason.

Note what happened just before

A setting change or a load explains most of these.

Look for the alarm LED

With, or without, is the whole distinction.

Wait two hours after loading

It stops flashing on its own when the cause has gone.

Usually a change, not a breakage

What it usually means

Flashing right after you changed a setting

Flashing after loading the freezer

Flashing together with the alarm LED

### It flashes and then goes steady.

Then it did exactly what it is documented to do: flagged a change, waited for the compartment to recover, and stopped. Nothing to repair.

### My wine fridge is blinking.

Same principle, different appliance: a zone that has been set to a new temperature, or a zone that has drifted. Check what each zone is set to and what it reads before assuming anything.
