Door open longer than 180 seconds. Temperature not low enough after warm food or a long door-open. Below-freezing-only display showing dashes. A power failure that pushed the compartment warm. All published, all normal.

Ask the appliance what it recorded

The power-failure function will show the highest temperature reached during the outage. That is a number worth having before deciding about the food.

Then decide whether there is anything to repair

And if there is not, say so, explain what happened, and charge for the visit rather than inventing work.

### My freezer beeps three times and stops. Is it broken?

Not necessarily, and this is one of the most common questions about this make. The audible alarms on these cabinets are documented: a door alarm after about three minutes of the door being open, and a temperature alarm when the freezer is not cold enough. Both stop on their own when the cause goes away. What is worth a call is an alarm that keeps returning with the door shut and nothing new inside.

### It alarmed after the power came back on.

That is the appliance telling you the compartment got warm while the power was off — which is exactly what you would want it to do. Touch the alarm icon to see the highest temperature it reached. No repair; a decision about the food.

### Will you charge me if nothing is wrong?

Yes, and we would rather say that now than at your door. Somebody drove to you, read the appliance and explained what it was doing. What you will not get is a part you did not need in order to make the visit feel worthwhile.
