Nothing is listed here yet. Call and describe the appliance — we will tell you the band it falls in before anybody visits. ## Sealed system, or not. The maker defines it for us in its own warranty: the sealed system is the **compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier and the tubing between them**. Work inside that circuit is licensed, needs recovery equipment, cannot be done in stages, and starts around $650 — or $850 once the compressor itself is the part. Everything outside it — fans, sensors, defrost circuits, seals, hinges, boards, ice makers, water lines — sits between $135 and $245 to start. That is the whole shape of pricing on cold equipment, and it is why a proper diagnosis is worth paying for: it decides which side of that line you are on before anybody orders anything. ## Four things, and only one of them is the part The appliance - Built in or freestanding. Fifteen in this line are fully integrated. - One appliance or two — a Side-by-Side is two cabinets behind matching doors. - Whether it is plumbed for ice or water. The work - Sealed system, or everything else. That line decides the order of magnitude. - Whether the cabinet has to come out of its joinery. - Whether the part is generation-specific and has to be ordered. Before we quote - The maker's own warranty: five years sealed system, parts to the twelfth. - How many appliances we see on one visit. - Whether the honest answer is that it is not worth repairing. ## And we would rather price that honestly. This maker documents seven behaviors that look like breakages and are not — a door alarm at 180 seconds, a freezer showing two dashes because it is not below freezing yet, a power-failure light reporting an outage you slept through. A visit that ends “nothing is wrong, and here is what it was telling you” is a real visit that took a real hour. So it has its own figure, from $145, and its own page saying plainly that it may end without a part. The alternative is either refusing to come out or finding something to charge for, and neither is a business we want. ## Or start from what you own Refrigerators, freezer columns and wine coolers price differently, mostly because of how they are fitted. These are the 3 pages. ## Ask what was measured. A sealed-system diagnosis rests on pressures and temperatures across the circuit, and a sensor is a resistance at a known temperature. Both produce numbers somebody can tell you. On the most expensive part of a cold appliance, “we ruled everything else out” is elimination rather than diagnosis — and it is a fair question to put to anybody quoting you, including us. ## The questions this page is asked Why is there no exact price anywhere on this site? — Because it would be either a guess or a ceiling, and both are worse for you than a starting figure with the reasons attached. What you get before anything is opened is not a range — it is a written scope and a written price for your appliance, after somebody has measured it. Where do the ranges come from? — They are researched market ranges for South Florida — aggregator bands for the same parts and the same labor, narrowed by what the part actually is on this equipment and by what the installation does to the time. They are not an average of our invoices, and we say so rather than implying a precision we do not have. Is the diagnostic fee credited toward the repair? — Yes. Liebherr publishes two years parts and labor, five years on the sealed system, and sealed-system parts from the sixth through twelfth year. On a cabinet inside those, the honest answer is often that the work is not ours to do — and a figure quoted without saying so would be selling you something you already own. Finally, South Florida. Salt air and fine dust fill condensers faster than the manual assumes, so the cheapest job on this page is also the one most worth having done. Humidity puts more work through every door seal.
