MRB 2400, MRB 3010 and MRB 3600 are the [refrigerator](/appliances/refrigerator/) columns. MF 1851, MF 2461, MF 3051 and MF 3661 are the [freezers](/appliances/freezer/). MW 1810, MW 2400 and MW 2401 are the [wine cabinets](/appliances/wine-cabinet/) — MW 2400 and MW 2401 with three temperature zones, MW 1810 with two. Ten cabinets out of the sixty-eight in the current US line. ### What is actually different, and what is not Not different: the sealed system, the compressor, the evaporator, the control board, the door seal, the parts list and the maker’s five-year and twelfth-year positions on the sealed system. Different: the cabinet is fitted into the kitchen rather than standing in it, it carries your panel, it is leveled into the joinery, and on the refrigerator side it is frequently plumbed. Every one of those is about getting to the appliance, and every one of them is worth knowing before the van is loaded. ### Side-by-Side pairs, and why one half can fail alone Monolith columns are frequently installed in pairs behind two matching panels — a refrigerator beside a freezer, or a refrigerator beside a wine cabinet. They are two appliances with two plates and two systems. A different line, and the same refrigeration. Monolith is what Liebherr calls its fully integrated column program — cabinets designed to disappear into the kitchen behind your own panels, with the interior and the fittings built to match across refrigerator, freezer and wine. The compressor, the sealed system and the parts that fail are the parts that fail in the rest of the range, and the maker's five-year sealed-system position applies the same way. ### Then why does it have its own page? Because access is not a detail on a built-in column, and because Monolith is the word on the paperwork. A cabinet fitted into joinery, leveled into it and often plumbed does not roll out onto the tiles; getting to the back of it is a planned part of the appointment rather than the first five minutes of it. Telling us it is a Monolith tells us that before we arrive. ### The panel on the front does not sit level with the cabinets any more. That is a door and hinge job rather than a refrigeration one, and it is worth doing early: a panel that has dropped is usually a door that is no longer closing squarely, and a door that is not closing squarely costs you temperature stability and eventually the seal. On an integrated column the panel is carried by the appliance door, so aligning the appliance is what aligns the kitchen. ### Which model do I have? Read the plate inside the cabinet, on the left-hand side. Monolith model numbers begin MRB for refrigerators, MF for freezers and MW for wine.
